The Grove Community Learning Centre

The Grove Community Learning Centre is a welcoming, attractive venue for a wide variety of learning and social activities. Like the Library, it is jointly owned by the Town of Mosman Park, The Town of Cottesloe and the Shire of Peppermint Grove.

Hiring the Centre

The Grove Community Centre is available for hire 7 days a week between the hours of 8.00am – 10.30pm depending on availability and for approved purposes. However, several community groups use the Centre regularly on weekdays, so it is more likely to be available in the evenings, on weekends, or during school holidays. Hiring can be short term or long term (subject to negotiation).

For enquiries and to apply for room hire please contact The Grove Library. You can fill in an Enquiry Form or call us on (08) 9286 8686 during office hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5pm.

Please note, this centre is not available as a hall for hire for parties. There are several other halls for hire managed by the Towns of Cottesloe and Mosman Park that may be available for residents for private functions and one-off social events.

Facilities

The room has capacity to seat 80 people. There are also trestle tables available. An audiovisual screen and access to wifi is available. A kitchenette with urn, refrigerator, cups and glasses is provided. Hiring is on the basis of the hirer setting up, and returning chairs and tables to the storage area and cleaning up after hire.

Users of the Centre

A number of community organisations use The Grove Community Learning Centre on a regular basis. If you are interested in joining a group or participating in activities run by these groups, please contact them directly for information and bookings:

Westcoast Community Centre Inc run community activities in the centre on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays such as Mah Jong, Sudoku, Bridge, various art and craft classes, cooking classes and demonstrations, talks, outings, music and theatre events and physical activity classes. Child and Adolescent Community Health offer a range of parenting programs in the community centre on Wednesdays by Child Health Nurses which include Open Clinics, New Parent groups, Introduction to Solids and Toddler information sessions. For more information phone 9286 8669.

Immunisation Clinics are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 9.30 to 12.30.

Community groups such as Men and Women’s Probus Clubs and University of the Third Age hold their group meetings in the centre on Mondays.

Community classes provided by private hirers are also available some evenings and weekends, for example meditation classes.

Community events are run by community groups, private hirers, local and state government organisations for meetings, arts/cultural events, presentations, workshops and seminars and these are held mainly on week-ends and evenings.
