The aim of the library service is to provide a friendly, helpful and accessible service for people of every age and ability, and to meet their needs for information, recreation and lifelong learning.

- Books on Wheels service for people physically unable to visit the library
- Home access to the library catalogues
- Online renewals and reservations
- Home access to online databases such as periodicals, newspapers, encyclopedias, health information, community information and other reference links
- Baby Rhyme Time sessions for babies (6-18 months)
- Storytime for pre-schoolers (3-5 year olds)
- School Holiday activities
- Computer classes for beginners
- Free access to internet and word processing
- Wireless Internet access within the library
- Fee paying services for printing and photcopying
