Debra is currently employed as the Operations Manager for the Rockhampton Regional Council (QLD) managing the operations of the region’s 5 full-time libraries and other outlets, which includes the $11.5m Rockhampton Regional Library which opened in 2008.
In 2008 she was the Transitional Manager of Libraries responsible for integrating the library services of four local government authorities following amalgamation.
Prior to this, Debra was the Coordinator of Library and Arts Services at the Livingstone Shire Council (QLD) for 7 years and after being the Manager of Community Services for 6 years at the Shire of Livingstone. This also included managing the start up of community development services for the Shire.
She has also worked at the Rockhampton College of TAFE and the State Library of Queensland.
Debra has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Government, a Graduate Diploma of Library Science, a Graduate Diploma of Local Government Management, and is currently pursuing further studies in Law.
Debra was the inaugural President of the Keppel Coast Arts Council, has been active in a women’s public speaking group, and has been a Rotary Group Study Exchange participant.
